My name is Phyllis Harley. I am the Mother of three daughters and six grandchildren. As a child I received a Barbie mannequin head. I would style and braid her hair everyday. I fell in love with styling hair. That sparked something in me. After graduating from high school, I wanted to become a licensed cosmetologist.

As time went by, I became a parent to three beautiful daughters, worked a full-time job and attended school full-time at night. Life and circumstances became overwhelming to the point that the dream of becoming a stylist seemed to impossible. Nevertheless, the desire never went away.

 

As time continued on and popular hairstyles changed I became fascinated with Sisterlocks. After many months of contemplating the idea, in 2018 I made a big leap into my sisterlock journey . It was the best decision I've ever made. One day as my Sisterlocks consultant , Yakeisha was retightening my hair, we had a conversation about me becoming a Sisterlocks practitioner as well. This conversation sparked that desire I had as a kid and lite a flame within me. I decided to give my dream another try, but this time without chemicals but with natural hair.

 

In 2023, I took a leap of faith and attended the Sisterlocks Training Course in Montgomery, Alabama and I have not turned back. I look forward to the opportunity to meet beautiful women and help them accomplish having natural beautiful hair in an indescribable feeling.

It is my goal to help women who once had negative thoughts about their natural hair, to fall in love with it and embrace its versatility and uniqueness.

 

My path forward is continuous growth specializing in the maintenance, education and styling of Sisterlocks and microlocs. Thank you to all my clients to allows me to postitive impact them into the sisterhood of locs.
